Shafina Jaffer is a multidisciplinary African artist whose practice is rooted in spirituality, ecology, and contemporary thought. She holds a Graduate Diploma and an MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art.

Her work is shaped by a deep sensitivity to nature, faith, and the unseen dimensions of existence. Through a versatile and evolving visual language, she explores themes of spirituality, feminism, and mysticism, creating works that are both contemplative and conceptually layered. Each painting carries an intentional narrative—an invitation to pause, reflect, and engage with questions that extend beyond the material world.

Jaffer approaches painting as a distinct and immersive language through which the spiritual can be experienced rather than simply represented. Her works function as dynamic agents of meaning, offering perspectives that move beyond fixed religious frameworks toward a more expansive and inclusive understanding of spiritual pluralism.
